About me

My first steps in aviation logistics were almost accidental. In 2007, at the age of eighteen, I became a freelance on-board courier for one of Europe's leading AOG freight forwarders. What began as a student job gradually turned into a profession that has accompanied me ever since.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to experience aviation logistics from many different perspectives. After completing my apprenticeship in international freight forwarding, I worked in time-critical and AOG operations before moving into partner and network management. In 2024, I took on the operational and developmental responsibilites for a transport company's Hamburg station, helping establish it as one of the airport's leading providers of AOG transportation.

I’ve built my career on a deep gut feel for both ends of the operation. I know what it feels like when a driver faces an unexpected problem on the apron at four o'clock in the morning—and I also understand the management perspective behind customer relationships, business development, operational responsibility and long-term strategic decisions.

And yet, the more experience I gain, the more I realize how much of the industry I still don't understand.

Seeing this industry from different angles hasn't made me complacent—it has made me a lifelong student of a fascinating, evolving ecosystem. That perspective became the starting point for this project.

Since 2026, I have been deliberately reaching beyond my own professional background to learn from the people whose roles I have never held myself—AOG Desk managers, purchasing specialists, material planners, MRO professionals, ground handling experts, freight forwarders and many others. Every conversation adds another perspective to a system that no single person can fully see from where they stand.

I believe that the strength of any supply chain lies not only in its processes, but in the quality of understanding between the people who make those processes work. The better we understand one another's realities, constraints and priorities, the stronger the entire system becomes.

This project exists to contribute, in a small way, to that understanding.
